The oldest pyramids on the site are the Templo Viejo (Old Temple), the Templo Pintato (Painted Temple), and the Templo del Sol (Temple of the Sun).
They are located in the southern part of the site near the Cementario Max Uhle.
From this area, it is thought that there was a major roadway that ran to the Acllawasi, the house of virgins of the sun, or chosen women.
